Happy hump day. Just a quick post today as there is plenty to do before the girls head back to school tomorrow.

I just got my Holiday mini order the other day and couldn't wait to play with my new favorite DSP, Spice Cake (available Sept. 1). Ohhhh so yummy! I absolutely love the color combination in this pack plus the new Spice Cake fabric (available Sept. 1)......toooo die for! I can see myself using it lots in the coming months. Anyways, on with the card. So here you have it. Take One, Pretty straight forward I think. And on the flip side....

Hellooooo Friday! Boy am I glad it's finally the weekend. It's not that I had a terrible week but for some reason I'm just glad it's over. Well, it's been quite a while since I've shared a card with you. So here goes. I designed this card for our shoe box swap last Friday.

I love, love, loooooove white on white, especially when layered with so many different textures. But with this card I wanted to add a touch of Wisteria Wonder. LOVE this new In-Color, however I didn't want it to take over the card. I layered Vellum over the large piece to soften it a bit and just added a few hints of Wisteria Wonder for a little pop. Plus I couldn't wait to try out our new Ruffled Ribbon...soooo pretty.

Something I don't usually show is the back of my cards. More often that not I will add an element from the card when stamping my personalized "hand stamped by..." stamp.

Sew Simple

The other day I picked up some flipflops for the girls at Roots and got this cute little shopping bag (free). Now as much as I love Roots I love Stampin' Up! and embellishing things even more. So when I got home the first thing I did was go through my fabric to see what I had that would go with florescent green. Unfortunately SU! doesn't have a fabric for that but I was still able to use the Circle #2 Die and 3 1/2" Circle Die (my favorites) to embellish this bag.

This project was so easy. I just ripped 1' strips of fabric, ran a running stitch down the middle and gathered. Now I used my sewing machine to attach the ruffled strips to the bag but this is easy enough you could also do it by hand.

For the Circle flower I just die cut out assorted sizes of fabric and layered. Used my Crop-A-Dile to punch through all those layers of fabric. Grabbed a brad and stuck it through the center and then through the bag. To finish it off inside so you don't have the pokie things from the brads catching on anything just take one of your circles and hot glue it to the inside overtop of the brad.

Then I just finished it off with a scrap piece of fabric at tied it to the handle. Easy peasie.

More Flirtatious Fun!

Today I'd like to share with you the necklaces I made for my girls with the Flirtatious Designer Fabric from Stampin' Up! I was able to make two skirt enhancements, two bracelets, two necklaces, two rings and two headbands all with one package of fabric. Plus there was a little extra leftover to dress up a stuffed toy. A little goes a looooonnng way.

I've been having so much fun creating these adorable accessories that I can't wait to make some for myself. The Yoyo's are so quick and easy to make and the Circle Dies make it that much faster. I can't imagine having to cut out all those circle by hand....eeeks!

After taking these photos I noticed Moira's bottom lip is either chapped or she's got a few left overs.....hummm. Well she's still pretty darn cute. That and she can get away with it :)

There was even fabric left over to make a cape for Moira's donkey and a few strips of fabric to wrap around her legs and in her hair.

Flirtatious Hair Accessories

Today I'd like to share with you another fun project I made with the Flirtatious Designer Fabric from Stampin' Up!

These headbands are so cute and fun to make. I just went through the girls headband drawer and picked out a few they hardly ever wear and dressed them up....a lot!

To make the twisted circles I just ripped 1" strips of fabric. Hot glued it to a piece of fabric I die cut from the Circle #2 Die (second smallest) and kept twisting and glueing it down. On one headband I wrapped ribbon around the band and on the other I used scrap pieces of fabric to cover the band.

Easy PEAsie Flirtatious Accessories

Today I have a few more samples to share with you that I made with the Flirtatious Designer Fabric. These were so quick and easy to make. The hardest part was deciding which color to layer on top of each other.I used a chain I picked up at an Arts and Craft store, wove some fabric and ribbon through each loop. Die cut assorted circles from the Circle #2 Die, layered them and added a few embellishments. The ring was made out of a scrap piece of fabric that I just tied and sewed a button and layers of circles onto. Now that was easy peasie :)
Have a fun time creating some of these for the little girls in your life.

Time for a Skirt Enhancement

It's been a long time since I've shared anything with you. Life has been pretty chaotic around here for the past few months. I hope you enjoy this post.

One thing that reeeeaaallllly drives me crazy now a days is the length of girls skirts. It is almost impossible to find a decent length skirt that my girls will wear. So for the longest time I've been wanting to alter/enhance a few of the skirts my girls own. So this weekend I finally got to it and here is what I came up with.

I'm afraid I didn't use a pattern (those things are just to hard to follow). I took the idea from a skirt of mine and altered it a bit to suite young girls. I was so excited and happy with the way the first one turned out I couldn't wait to make another. Pink and purple are not usually colors I wear but after making these for my girls I want to make one for myself. I love this new Designer Fabric Flirtatious (available July 1) from Stampin' Up! The girls both LOVE their skirts and I'm going to guess I won't be washing them for at least a week:)

My Broken Heart.

It is with great sadness that I write this post.

For the past 4 weeks my Dad has been in hospital fighting pneumonia. We also found out that he had pulmonary fibrosis of the lungs. Last weekend he passed away peacefully in his sleep. My Dad was 82. He lived a long healthy life and will be greatly missed...rest in peace Dad.

My friend who just lost her Mother a few months ago had this beautiful poem posted on her facebook...

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes I watched you, and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart...to prove to me, he only takes ...the BEST.

It has been over a month since I have done any stamping and I hope to be back in the studio soon and posting.

Time for A Face Lift!

As my girls are getting older it's time to start going through the toys and things they have out grown. Ella has informed me that Dora is no longer cool and we do not use the D-word in our house....she's so funny. But because she is starting to learn about time I didn't want to get rid of a perfectly fine working clock. So I asked Ella if it would be okay if I gave it a SU! face lift. She was all for that. So without further ado here are the before and after shots of this incredible facelift.

You can even see how long it took me to make, (of course there were a few interruptions from the kids:). The thing I love about this make over is that this project didn't cost me a thing. SU! Make-Over!

Top o' the mornin' to ya! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted last. But to make it up to you I've got something really fun to share with you today.

A few years ago I bought a responsibility chart but never really used it. So my plan was to transform it and give it a Stampin' Up! make over. Voila! We have this gorgeous new magnetic chart with so many fun little elements. I took part of the idea from (I think the February issue) of Stampin' Success. I love this color combination - Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. It reminds me of spring. My girls wanted me to make little snowflakes for on here but I flat out said NO! I'm tired of winter and want spring to be here NOW! Which reminds me; it's only a week away and we still have a ton of snow:(

Isn't it cute?! Right now the girls are working at keeping their room clean as well as a few other things. I was surprised when my girls chose the buttons over the flowers as their first pick.
The butterflies are only for the end of the week if they fill their chart.

Just havin' some fun!

Today I'd like to share the page I did for week 3 of my scrapbooking mission. January was such a crazy month for weather. We had 2 weeks of heavy, heavy snow fall. Then we got into plus temperatures days later which melted a bit of that snow. Then there was the ice to contend with.....I have to say I've never seen such weird weather let alone in one month. So your probably wondering where I'm going with this. Well, every year Seamus builds a snow hill in our yard for the girls to toboggan on and this year the hill is insanely high. So I got out my good ol' camera (well not really I think it's starting to go on me, not taking that great of pic's) and tried to capture the fun moments the girls had on the hill. I was hoping to get some developed so that I could have then inserted with this page.
I love this layout. I took the idea from the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalogue and changed it to a winter theme. The colors I used are Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Baha Breeze and Whisper White. I'm quite happy with the way it turned out. Now here are some of pictures of our fun in the sun. Moira made a snow dog. I know cute ah!
And Ella made a snow bunny. Love their imagination and creativity.
Oh and of course here's Seamus jumping off our deck. You go honey! Just don't break anything and watch out for that park bench under there...lol.

Today I'd like to share a card I made for friends of our who are getting married this weekend. If your thinking this card looks a little bigger than average, your right. As I was searching for inspiration I came across a card on Stampin' Connection that Carrie Gaskin had created. It was 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". I love the idea of a larger card especially for a wedding. There are plenty of layers on this card and I can't get over the weight of it. Good thing I don't have to mail it. Although I may take it down to the post office just to see how much it would cost...lol.The colors I used are Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White and Perfect Plum.

Well I should get cracking I've got my scrapbook pages and a responsibility chart to create for my girls. I'll let you know how that turns out.

As promised, today's post is week 2 of my scrapbooking mission. If you are just joining me for the first time I've made it my goal to set aside one day a week devoted to scraping a 2 page 12x12 layout. I can't believe how well it's going and I'm having a blast doing it too! This layout is one that I absolutely loved from the October issue of Stampin' Success. I believe it was originally done as a 6x6, but because my goal is to do all 12x12 I just added a mat to the back...easy peasie.

Jump on the Scrapbooking Wagon!

I'm not one to make New Years resolutions but this year there's one thing that I'm determined to do, Scrapbook! I've decided to set one evening a week aside to complete a 2 page 12 x 12 layout. Want to know how I'm doing so far? We're into week three of this year and I've completed 4 pages in total. Oh and I forgot to mention that I just decided to do this last week so as it stand I'm right on schedule. Yah me!

My biggest problem when it comes to scrapbooking is time. I spend way to much time over analyzing every little detail and that my pages have to be perfect. Every time! So to make my scrapbooking life easier I CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the pages I love and think that would w0rk with my photos. Of course I make slight adjustments and tweak it so that it fits with my story. This saves me a ton of time. Hello, it's not rocket science! So today I'd like to share the first page I CASED from Sherry Roth. I absolutely love this page that she created. There wasn't much I changed to it at all. Mostly just the color. For my layout I used Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso. LOVE these two colors!

I'm Feelin' the Love!

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. The past few months have kept me busy with a major kitchen reno but WOW! I LOVE my new kitchen. I just hope I never have to live through that again. Speaking of love; I'd like to share a card with you today that was inspired by a card I received at Christmas.
It was the floating/suspended image that really caught my eye and with Valentine's fast approaching I couldn't wait to play around with the idea. So this is what I came up with.

I love that when the card is closed the little love birds are hidden by the heart and when the card is open the heart gently sways back and forth.

I'd like to share a card with you that we will be making at our next Truffles & Tea class. One of my most favorite sets right now is the French Foliage (120845 W, 121166 C). Love, love, love this set and so versatile too. I also used the sets Peaceful Season (Hostess Level 2) and Four The Holidays (116921).

If you are looking for a fun night out where you can learn something new, then this is the perfect class for you. No experience is required. The projects are planned so that anyone can easily create them but still include something for the experienced stamper.

If you are in the Edmonton area and would like to join us for Truffles and Tea this Saturday we would love to have you.

Yoyo Fabric Necklace

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is their new line of fabric. There are just so many things you can create with it when combined with the Big Shot (113439). I used the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric (121716) and Antique Brads (117273) to create this stunning necklace.

To make this Yoyo Fabric Necklace I used the Clear Circle Die (114533) and the largest circle on the Circle #2 Die (114526). I die cut 3 of the circles from the Clear Circle Die, one in each patter and 5 of the largest circle from the Circle # 2 die. When you order the fabric you will receive a pattern book with step-by-step instructions on how to make these cute little yoyo's. Once that is done I just poked the brads through the center of the yoyo' and attached to the chain.

To finish off I used Cherry Cobbler (120992) and Very Vanilla (120999) Seam binding tape along with torn strips of fabric approximately 1/2" wide x 16" long and weaved it through the loops. I tied a knot at both ends to secure it. I didn't use a clasp to fasten it I just tied it in a bow at the top/back of neck.

Last week, my daughter Ella celebrated her 6th Birthday. We had a Rockin' Disco Dance Party this weekend for her and her friends. Everyone had a blast singing, dancing and of course rockin'. Happy Birthday Ella!

Crazy for Christmas Collage

I've been having a blast playing with the Christmas Collage stamp from the Holiday Mini. There are so many options with this stamp. I just love all the little details on this card.

So when I came across this card by Carrie Gaskin I knew I had to CASE it. I just change it up a little by adding the Christmas Collage stamp set and a few other details but kept the layout pretty much the same. There's a lot of detail and I just can't get enough of our new fabric. I absolutely love using it on my cards, it adds such a wonderful texture and dimension.

It's beginning to look a lot like.....

Well we got our first snow fall on Monday and it certainly is a lot cooler outside. Even though we haven't made it to Halloween yet it's starting to feel a lot like winter is here to stay. So with that I'd like to share a Very Vintage card I made for our Annual Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack last weekend. This was just one of the samples on display. I have a few more to show you but I will save that for another day.

The card base is Very Vanilla with a Cherry Cobbler Mat. I stamped the Christmas Collage image in Sahara Sand. On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the Silent Night from the same stamp and punched it out with the 1 3/4" x 7/8" Large Oval. That was then layered over the Cherry Cobbler Decorative Label punch out; which I scrunched up to give it a bit of distressing. The 2" Always Artichoke circle was die cut using the Circle # 2 die for the Big Shot. Then run through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder. A piece of Always Artichoke was placed over the blank space to the top right corner and the Cherry Cobbler seam binding was tied in a bow and adhered to that strip. I used the holly from the Peaceful Season hostess set, stamped that in Soft Suede and colored the holly berry with Cherry Cobbler marker.

Tin for Ten!

Yesterday my hubby Seamus and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary. Well we didn't actually get to spend much time together. When he got home from work he finished ripping out a wall, then we ordered in pizza (so romantic:) and then I was off to help at the Casino for Moira's playschool. It's hard to believe sometimes that it's been that long, some days it feels like 10 years and 10 days...lol.

So the card I'd like to share with you today is the one I made Seamus for our Anniversary. When I found out what the gift for ten years was I came up with the idea of two tin hearts...okay maybe that sounds a little cold but I thought what a great way to design a card with the appropriate gift for that year. Maybe for a 60th you could just bling it up with Dazzling Diamonds. Or use the wood sheets for a 5th Anniversary. In my card I also used a little piece of fabric that I still had from my dress and the tulle was left over from our thank you favors. What a fun way to bring back some memories and do a little recycling at the same time.

For the tin hearts I just cut open a pop can and cut the hearts out using the Sizzlits 4-pack Dies - Hearts Set. I also embellished the tulle bow with one of our beautiful Antique Brads.
So for our gift to each other we are renovating our kitchen - hence the ripping out of a wall. I'm so excited I can't wait till it is finished. I know it's not made out of tin but we also got a new stainless steel stove. Nothin' says lovin' like a brand new oven!

I also just wanted to share a little something our oldest daughter Ella did for us without any help from Seamus or myself. I was so touched by her picture and her little letter for us. Thanks Ella.

I only have time for a quick post today. September has been such a crazy month with the girls back to school and this and that.

This is one of the cards we did at my last Truffles & Tea class. It's using the set Thoughts & Prayers. The colors I used are Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. I just love the Autumn Spice Specialty Designer Series Paper with it's bold designs and colors; its ideal for all your fall projects.

Wicked Cool - Spiderman

Today I have a fun super hero birthday card I'd like to share with you. A few weeks ago the girls were invited to a friends birthday party. Knowing how obsessed with Spiderman this little guy is my creative senses were tingling.

I used the spider web from the Wicked Cool stamp set to create the DSP. For the Look Whos Turning...5 I traced one of the things from the gift the girls were giving him, then took assorted sizes of circle punches and oval punches to punch along the traced lines. His face was made with the small oval punch. Once it was punched out I set it back into the punch and punched off a bit more to give me just the right shape and size. His eyes are made using the smallest heart from the Heart To Heart punch and just cut it in half and sponged around the edges with Basic Black.
And a card is never quite complete without decoration the inside and envelope.

Fabulous Fabric! Coming September 1st

I just have to laugh at this picture of Ella. If you know Ella you know how crazy she can be and her facial expressions are priceless. I was trying to get a nice photo of here wearing this Fabric Yoyo necklace and just as I was about to take the picture she gives me this cute little wink and smile. I tried a few more times to get a nice candid shot but ended up with goofy expressions like this. So this is what you get. Love it!
This past weekend the girls were invited to a girl friends birthday party. I love kids party's because it gives me a chance to make something that is truly unique and we all know kids get tons of toys so this is just a little something made especially for them. I've been dying to make something with this new fabric that Stampin' Up! has coming out in the Holiday Mini Catalogue starting September 1st. So I made a cute little Yoyo necklace, Circle Flower bracelet, Jewelry box to keep her beautiful jewelry and a cute Scallop Square bag to give this adorable gift in. All of these project were made in a day and the cost was quite minimal.
This adorable jewelry box was a plain wood box I picked up at the $ store and cover with the Candy Cane Christmas DSP (available September 1st)
The box was a last minute decision and didn't quite have enough time to finish the inside. But you could easily add some DSP to finish it off.
I love these Yoyo necklaces. They are so quick and easy to make. Ella even helped me make this necklace. She hand sewed the one with the Blushing Bride Button. Pretty good hey?!
Another quick and easy project are these sweet little circle flowers. When you order the Candy Cane Christmas and Deck the Halls fabric you are given a little pamphlet of projects that you can make with the fabric. This circle flower bracelet is one of the projects in there as well as the fabric Yoyos.
This is what the finished bracelet looks like. It's wonderful because you can make them to fit a little girls wrist or an adult by just adjusting the position of the button.
And lastly I had to make this cute little Scallop Square bag to put the jewelry box and accessories in. What girl doesn't love a matching handbag and accessories?!

I have a class coming up on Saturday September 25th at 1Pm if you would like to come and learn how to make this cute Scallop Square bag. You will need to supply your own fabric and sewing machine. Gerbera Vase Tutorial

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial on how to make gerbera daises out of paper in my last post. Well now that you have them you need somewhere to put them. Today I have the tutorial on how to make the vase. The one I made for Convention was just a wee bit smaller because I knew it was only going to be put up on one of those black boards so it wasn't overly sturdy. With this tutorial I made it ever so slightly bigger so that it would stand up better on it's own. Enjoy!

Gerbera Vase Tutorial

1. Cut two pieces of Early Espresso cardstock to 5 1/4" x 3 1/2". At the bottom or each piece measure 1/2" from each side. Draw a line from the bottom 1/2" mark to the top corner as shown in picture. Using your paper cutter, trim along line to make your vase fluted.
2. Using the Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder, run one at a time through the Big Shot. Set aside.
3. Cut a piece of Early Espresso to 11" x 5". Score the 11" side at 1 1/2" and 3 1/2". Rotate and score the 5" side at 4 3/4" and 6 1/4". Cut on the score line up to the 1 1/2" score line as shown in picture. You can even trim off a little more to make it easier to fold. Place stick strip on outer edges and shown and the inner two sides which will be your front and back of the vase.

4. Peel back the tape and close one side of the box making sure it stays square. Repeat on other side.
5. Peel off tape from on side and adhere vase front to vase. Repeat with the back piece. Make sure everything is lined up perfectly or your vase will be a little tippy.

6. Now just add gerbs, no water required! These baby's will last and last.

Gerbera Daisy Tutorial

Before I became a Stampin' Up! demonstartor I was a florist. I worked in retail and wholesale. So creating flowers out of paper is a lot of fun for me.

There are so many different varieties of gerbs - when I am creating, each one is put together a little differently. Some may have more petals, some are two-tone so to make them look as life like as possible the recipe will alter depending on the variety. The one that I am showing you in my tutorial is called Mayane. Enjoy!

Gerbera Daisy Tutorial

1. To start - here is what you will need. 4 - large Blushing Bride (BB) daisies, 3 - medium BB daisies, 3 - small BB daisies, 1 - small Basic Black daisy, 1 - largest flower from the Boho Blossoms Punch BB, 2 - Basic Black largest flower from Boho Blossoms Punch, 2 - Basic Black smallest flower from Boho Blossoms punch, 1 - Old Olive Scallop Circle from Punch, 1 - 1 1/8" x 12" piece Old Olive, assorted thin strips of Old Olive (how to - step 21)
2. Take the 1 1/8" x 12" piece of Old Olive. Run a piece of stick strip along one of the long edges. To make the stem I used a dowel and the edge of my table to soften up the fibers. If you are making a vase of these you will most likely want to alter the length of each stem.
3. Once you have it all rolled up remove the stick strip and roll over top. I only pulled back the stick strip 1/4 of the way and worked my way down. Remove dowel.
4. Punch out 1 Old Olive Scallop Circle. Place Scallop back in punch rotating it so that the scallops are in between, punch.
5. Take the smallest circle from when you punched out the daisies and center that on your scallop circle and trace. With your Crop-A-Dial punch a hole in the center of the circle you just traced. Cut a straight line to the center. With your snips cut out along the traced circle and put a piece of sticky strip along one edge.
6. Remove sticky strip. Count over 4 scallops and and press in place. You should have a bit of a cone that looks like this.
7. Take your large BB daisies and curl the petals under with your bone folder. Once all four are done bend all the petals up to look like the daisy on the right.
8. Place a bit of Tombow Multipurpose glue around inner circle of daisy. Layer all 4 daisies.
9. Once all 4 are in place, take the sticky strip and place 4 small piece on the inner circle.
10. Take the stem, using your snips cut about 1/2" down at quarters only on one end and slightly open.11. Remove stick strip from gerb and attach all 4 tips of the stem to the top inside of the gerb. This will help give it the movement or the natural bend of the gerb.
12. Take the scallop cone, slightly bend the tip of the scallop backwards. Place Tombow Multipurpose glue around perimeter and slide up to base of gerb.
13. It should look like this. I liked to have my seams line up so I can turn them to the back when on display. It just help give it that real look.
14. Take the 3 medium BB daisies and curl the petals up this time. The first one just curl a little, the second a little more and the last one curl up the most.
15. Adhere all 3 daisies together.
16. Adhere to large daisy.
17. For the center of the flower take and curl your petals the same way as in step 14. You will want to layer them with 1 BB on the bottom, next a basic black, then 2 more BB. Curling in the petals a little more the further they go in.
18. With the large flower from the Boho Blossoms punch snip all around the flower to give you more petals to curl. Snip at the tip and in-between the petals.
19. Repeat with the smallest Boho Blossom flowers.
20. Adhere to center. This is what you should end up with. I used my snips (or you could use the piercing tool) to work the petals to fill it out more. Adhere to gerb.
21. To make the bear grass I took a 12" x 12" piece of Old Olive card stock and cut thin strips. The bottoms are a little wider and skinnier at the top - approximately 1/16" at top, even some go to a complete pointy tip and the bottoms are about 1/8". Take your bone folder and curl the ends just like curling ribbon.
22. Voila! You have a beautiful paper gerbera that will last and last.

So Many Thanks - Thanks So Much

A few months ago when school was still in I was busy getting the girls ready and since it was going to be a hot day I put the sprinkler on to water the planter. I kept reminding myself 'don't forget to turn the water off, don't forget to turn the water off'. Even as we were getting our shoes on and heading out the door, 'don't forget to turn the water off'. Well...one of the girls must have said something to me and my reminder to myself went right out the window. So after being out all day, when I got home I almost died! Holy hannah! (those aren't really the works I used). So not only was the grass and flower beds soaking but when I went downstairs to see if it had seeped through the window or foundation there was a puddle of water on our TV cabinet and of course it had gotten into the TV. Well after cleaning up the mess and checking all around the house for other possible puddles everything else seemed to be fine. My studio was unharmed:) But the TV was a wee bit wet and not doing what a TV is supposed to. It ended up that it only needed a day to dry out.

Fast forward to this past week. Seamus comes to me and mentions that the TV is looking a little blurry. Really...It must be getting old. So yesterday he went out and we got a new one.

So don't you think this would be a really nice card for Seamus to send to me and thank me for ruining the old Telly so that he could get a nice new big flat screen TV. Yes I can see it now THANKS SO MUCH! for working your magic so that I could get a beautiful new TV. Love Seamus.
Now on with the card. This is another sample that I did for Convention. It's using the So Many Thanks set.
I think it's pretty straight forward but for the border I took the piece of scrap that you get when you use the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and made a frame out of that. I also took the teeny tiny hearts that are almost invisible and layered them over the row of hearts.

Teeth, Truffles & Tea

I know the title doesn't sound to appetizing but I was trying to go for the Tri-fecta.

Poor Ella. Yesterday she lost her first tooth and was so upset. I had to force her to give me this 'I don't feel much like smiling' smile. So today she's feeling a little better after the tooth fairy left a little something under her pillow. Of course last night I had to come up with something to stick under her pillow. I made a little Pink Pirouette Scallop Edged Envelop, embellished with a heart and wrote a little note inside with a shiny gold coin (loonie).

So this morning when she got up she came running to me to show me what the tooth fairy had left her. Ella's comment was something like 'I think the tooth fairy does Stampin' Up! too' - I just had to giggle inside. She's a smart fairy!

So Many Thanks - Monster Gift Card Holder

I just got back from Convention today - WHAT A BLAST! But I have to start by saying sorry for not having this post out on Friday like I had mentioned. As I was scheduling post for while I was away at Convention I accidentally entered 08 for my month - which means it wouldn't be posted till August. As some would say My Bad:(

So here is the sample I was going to show you on Friday. He's my Scallop Square gift card holder monster. I used the Scallop Square die for his body and head. The Scallop envelope was used to make a pocket for the gift card. His legs and arms are made using the Oval die. With the So Many Thanks set I stamped the Very Vanilla cardstock all over with So Saffron and on to Brushed Gold I used Black Stazon ink and placed it on one of our new Mini Vintage Tags form the Summer Mini Catalogue.

I will be back tomorrow to share another sample and I can't wait to fill you in on this years Stampin' Up! Convention. Soooo many incredibly fun things to share with you.

Domo Agrigato - So Much!

The first card I made using the So Many Thanks set is probably one of my favorite. I'm not usually inspired by a word set but as I was looking around the house for inspiration I came across one of the curtains hanging in my daughters room. I wasn't sure at first how I was going to incorporate the So Many Thanks set with this fabric but once I started playing it all came together and I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.

Just Believe - Believe

Hello from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Convention in beautiful Salt Lake City, UT. We made it!

Back in April or early May I was asked by Stampin' Up! to be a display stamper for this years Convention. So of course I said yes! Well I was super busy all of June coming up with samples using the Just Believe, So Many Thanks and Paisley Prints stamp sets I was given that I hope they will inspire you. Now if you are at this years Convention you will most likely have seen some or all of the cards I will be posting within the next month. If not then you can sit back and enjoy what I have to share with you. Be sure to leave a comment if you see something you like.

I thought it would be appropriate to start with my Believe card. When I started working with the set Just Believe I couldn't help but sing the theme song 'Believe' from the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC. I can't wait to hear this years Convention theme song. The one last year made me cry and I'm sure it will again this year. There were just so many wonderful emotions going through me and I'm kind of an emotional gal to begin with. Okay so enough about that...

...on with the show! The inspiration for this card came from rummaging through my daughters closets. You wouldn't believe all the ideas you can find. Well I came across this rain coat of Moira's. I love the colors and they match so well with the Stampin' Up! colors I couldn't wait to do something with it. Enjoy!

A Beautiful card to CASE

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend. I'd like to share this beautiful card with you, it's one that we made at my Truffles & Tea class last night. I first saw this card on the Stampin' Pretty blog by Mary Fish and just knew I had to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it. If you haven't been to here blog be sure to check it out - her designs are gorgeous.

I changed it up just a tiny bit. I used the new color Marina Mist (119682 Cardstock, 119668 Ink) with Sahara Sand (121043) and Whisper White (100730). The stamp sets I used were Elements Of Style (118611W, 120045C), For All You Do (115360W), Just Believe (116948W, 120453C) and A to Z ( 115711W). A must have for this card is the 1 1/4" Square Punch (119865). For the butterfly I punched out the smallest one from the Beautiful Butterflies Die (114507) then embossed it with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder (115964). Embellished it with a 5/16" Jumbo Brad (112534).

Truffles and Tea for July

I've been having a great time playing with this new set Just Believe (116948W, 120453C). To give this card a bit more Asian flair I used the reverse side of the Square Lattic Embossing Flolder (119976). I sponged the edges of the circle in Baja Breeze and spritzed (107066) it with Soft Suede marker (120973). The circle was cut out using the largest circle in the Circle #2 Die (114526). Happy belated Canada Day. I was hoping to get this post in yesterday but just couldn't manage to squeeze it in. We had a fun, low key day - got to spend most of it outdoors. So on with a few fun and exciting announcements.

Sweet Scoops - Yum, Yum!

Here is another card we made using the Sweet Scoops set at Truffles & Tea on Saturday. This is such a sweet set and because I love Neapolitan ice cream, I just had to design this card using Pink Pirouette (returning In-color), Close to Cocoa (retiring color) and Whisper White. I used the Texturz Plates Perfect Details on Pink Pirouette to give it the look of a cone. It's hard to tell from the picture but I embossed the Whisper White Ice cream with Iridescent Ice. Yummy!

First Days

It's hard to believe there are only four weeks of school left. So today I thought I'd share a cute little card we made at our stamp clubs this month. It's using the stamp set First Days from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

The cute little worm you see holding the book can be removed and used as a book mark. To create the holder/folder and book mark I used the Two Tags Die. A fun quick and easy card. I'm sure any teacher or student would love to receive this. Enjoy!

Perfect Setting Princess Party

This past weekend we celebrated Moira's 3rd birthday. I had a great time coming up with a few accessories for the little princess' . For the birthday girls tiara it had to be big and fancy. After all she is the Princess. And for her friends they each got a tiara, but in no way did they outshine the birthday girls.

I also made these fun little magical wands to poof!... make magic. I used the new Island Floral die from the Summer mini catalogue. A little bit more feminine than a star I think.
And what Princess isn't complete with a beautiful wrist corsage. Oh yes and of course lots of shimmer. Shimmer paint on everything!
Here's are my Princess' waiting ever so patiently for our royal guest to arrive. It was soooo cute, I think Ella was more excited for Moira's birthday than she was. She even had trouble sleeping at nights.
Before the party even started Moira would say "this is the best birthday ever". It was really sweet. Happy birthday Sweet Pea.

Island Oasis Album

Today I'd like to share with you one of my upcoming classes. At this class you will complete a 20 page, 6x6 album to showcase your summer photos or winter getaway. Each attendee has a choice of either the Island Oasis DSP or Travel Journal DSP, please specify at time of registration. I've kept the layouts fairly simple; so it is possible to complete them in a short amount of time.

Here are a few pictures of some of the layouts. Everything will be precut (except for the titles). All you need to do is come, stamp, assemble and have fun.

Class Details:

Friday May 28th - 6 to 10 pm
Class limit is 6 so register early!
Class fee is $45 and includes a 6x6 Designer Printed Album (value of $14.95) in your choice of Old Olive Polka-Dot or Bashful Blue Herringbone, all precut supplies, embellishments and photos and instructions (as needed) to complete the layouts.

I'd like to share with you a card I demonstrated at a recent workshop. The layout was one I CASED from our monthly publication Stampin' Success (only available to SU! demonatrator). I really liked the clean, simple look with a touch of detail. I changed it up a little by adding the photo boxes around the butterflies and replacing the colors with more vibrant summer shades.

This weekend is Mother's day and I'd just like to say to my mom - for all you do, for all you are, for all you mean to me...thanks for being such a wonderful and supportive mom.

Fifth Avenue Floral

It's been a while since I've use my Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. So I decided to pull it off the shelf, give it a little dust and away I went. I was inspired by the Artisan swap I received from Shanna Jensen using this flower. I needed a simple card for a make & take for a group of ladies that are fairly new to stamping.

To create the center of this flower I just used one of my hand-held circle punches, punched out a whole bunch of circles, then emptied the holder. I used a bit of glue in the center and sprinkled the circles to cover. Easy peasy!

I'd like to share another sample done with the new Marina Mist. This is one of the samples I made for the May issue of Stampin' Success.
I had SOOOO much fun playing with the new colors, mixing old with new and new with current. The combination's are endless.

With this card I used the new Marina Mist, returning Wild Wasabi, and current Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue. LOOOOVE the co-ordinating Grosgrain Ribbon. Marina Mist is soothing - yet exciting and is a member of the Subtles family.

Can't Quit the Quilt Bag

Ever since I started making these Rag Quilt Bags I haven't been able to stop. I started with these two for Ella and Moira to take their shoes to ballet in. Then I made one for myself which I showed in an earlier post.
With all the comments and feedback I've been getting on these bags, I've come up with a way to cater to all levels of crafter's and non-crafter's. If you'd like to get your hands on one here are four options.

I'm offering a class on Sunday May 2nd from 1-4 at my studio. You will need to supply your own fabric, notions and sewing machine. I will demonstrate step by step how to make the quilt bag. (More details to follow).

I've had these wooden letters for a while now not knowing what I was going to use them for until I started noticing how we keep losing our little hair clips and having to dig through the drawer to find a matching set. Well voila! I added Designer Series Paper to the wood letters, tied a ribbon in a bow and left the tails long to attach pookie clips to. You're probably thinking what the heck is a pookie clip. Well that's what we called those little silver barrett's when I was in dancing. They kind of make a pookie sound when you pop them open. Just a little FYI.

I absolutely love all of the accessories Stampin' Up! has to offer. And because my girls are such girlie girls they love wearing them. The butterfly was done using the Beautiful Butterflies Die. I cut out the two smallest and stuck them together with hot glue then add the certainly Celery 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and a cute little Pretty In Pink button from the Sherbet Designer Buttons.I love this fun daisy flower from the Pretties Kit. I layer a retired Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button and Clear Button. The girls also can clip this onto their outfits if they choose to add a little bit of Ohhh la la.

So for this sweet little clip I took the Flower Fusion Felts, added a button from the Sherbet Designer Buttons and the Melon Mambo 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon. I know I know your probably thinking to yourself but that ribbon is polka-dot less. Well here's my trick. I just flipped it over and ta-da! I have a 2 in 1 ribbon. So if I'm not in the Polka mood I can just go solid. Sweet!, as my teenage niece would say.

Here is the last one using my most favorite accessorise EVER, the SWEET PEA Felts or maybe it's just the name. Aren't they just the sweetest little felt stitched flowers and no I didn't have to do the stitching myself. They come like that. How fun! Okay just one more....Ella is always complaining that her jeans aren't fancy (like Moira's) so the other night I dressed up a pair of her jeans and in the morning when I showed them to her she was so excited. I have fancy jeans she said! It wasn't till I had them all on that I thought to myself, will I be able to wash them without falling off or apart?" the answer is yes. I just washed them inside out and hung to dry.

Big Shot Barbie! -Big Shot Deal!!!

It's a good thing there isn't a law against having fun because I'd be spending a lot of time behind bars. Check this out!!! As you know my latest obsession has been creating things with the Big Shot and fabric. Well here's another idea I came up with. Don't you just love her? I used the Pennant Bigz XL Die and Perfect Setting to create the top and skirt. The little flower was made using the Baskets & Blooms Die.

And how do you like her friend? Her top was made using the scallop tag from the Two Tags Die and Perfect Setting. Her Skirt was also done with Perfect Setting Die. All of the garments are sewn and fastened with snaps. Don't look to closely at the stitching this was my first attempt and I figured out a few tricks as I went along. I used some scraps of fabric to make the outfits. I can't believe how expensive barbie clothes are. Their almost more than the doll sometime. These designer outfits were quite inexpensive to make. I got some of my inspiration from the Antropologie catalogue. They look like their ready for a girls night out. Are you?

Artisan Swap Sweet Pea Quilt

I've been on such a huge sewing kick lately that when it was time to come up with a card for our Artisan swap I was drawing a blank. So I thought why not sew my card. It gave me some practice for when I do my girls quilts. Yes that's right I'm working on two duvet quilts for my girls. I've never made a quilt before so this should be interesting. Unfortunately I can't complete one and then the other so I've been going back and forth on them. I'll be sure to share them with you when I am finished.

This is our third swap that we've done and each time these gals just blow me away with their creations. I am so luck to be a part of this amazingly talented group of ladies. I can't wait till they get here. It's more exciting then Christmas. Be sure to stop by again and be prepared to be blown away. We also did a Simply Adorned swap but I'll save that for another day.

I thought I'd change things up a little and go from fabric samples to sharing with you one of my favorite Decor Elements piece. Simple Samples Using The Scallop Square And More!

I've been having soooooo much fun creating with fabric and the Big Shot lately. I want to share a few samples with you. The first is my Rag Quilt Purse or rag bag as I call it. It's super simple and quick to put together. I think picking out the fabric took longer, there are so many great colors and patterns out there it's hard to choose.

This cute little scallop square pouch I made to hold my cell phone. You could use it for your business cards, as a wallet, what ever. The options are endless.

This beautiful flower accessories was made to go on my rag bag or I can ware it on my coat.

Here is the last one I'm going to show you today. I used the Scallop Envelope die to make this sweet little pouch.
